Go Home Same Day. No Recovery Time

Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE) is a modern, image-guided alternative to TURP and laser prostate surgery. Performed by a Vascular Specialist, it takes ~2 hours and avoids cuts, catheter, or long recovery. Patients walk out the same day.
How to Prepare for Your PAE Procedure
- Blood and urine test required
- MRI/Ultrasound for confirmation
- No food 6 hours before PAE
- Share all ongoing medications
- Minimal prep, zero overnight stay(Unless Insurance Mandated (Daycare Coverage Not Provided)
What Happens During the PAE Procedure
- Your Vascular Specialist inserts a microcatheter through the wrist/groin to block prostate arteries. No surgery, no pain, and you stay awake. Entire process lasts around 2 hours.
- Local anaesthesia, not general
- No pain or surgical incision
- You're awake the whole time
What to Expect After PAE?
- Home same day—no admission
- Normal activity in 1–2 days, Regular workouts in a Week
- No catheter or wound dressing
- Sustained Improvement in Symptoms within 4-6 weeks, clinically same results as surgery

FAQs
Will PAE affect my sexual performance?
PAE has a much lower risk of retrograde ejaculation (≈ 10–16 %) compared with TURP’s ~50 %. No erectile nerves are cut.
How long before I feel better?
Many patients notice stronger flow within a week; prostate shrinkage continues for 3–6 months.
Can PAE be repeated?
Yes. If prostate arteries reopen years later, a touch- up embolization is simple and safe.
Is there a risk of prostate cancer being missed?
We screen PSA, DRE and imaging. PAE does not preclude future biopsy if ever needed.
